Verdian was founded in Hong Kong by practitioners who had spent years watching AI projects fail to deliver because the focus drifted from the problem to the technology.

A small team. A clear purpose.
Verdian started in 2019 out of a simple frustration: too many AI engagements were defined by vendor ambition rather than client need. The founding team — having worked across logistics, financial services, and enterprise software — wanted to build something smaller, more direct, and more accountable.
We are based at 42 Hennessy Road in Wan Chai, which puts us close to the businesses we serve across Hong Kong's commercial districts. Most of our clients are mid-sized organisations that have data, have processes, and have a specific question they need answered more clearly.
Our approach is to start with the decision, not the data. What does a manager or executive need to know? What action follows from knowing it? Those questions shape everything — the data we integrate, the model we build, the interface we design.
We are deliberate about scope. Each of our three service areas has a defined beginning and end. We don't position ourselves as a platform you subscribe to indefinitely; we build something useful, hand it over properly, and remain available if the work continues.

Client data is handled under the PDPO framework. Data access scopes are minimised to what's needed, and residency preferences are documented before any pipeline is built.
Documented, maintainable code
Everything we build is documented so your internal team — or a future partner — can understand, modify, and extend it without our involvement.
Model performance monitoring
We include baseline performance benchmarks in every delivery. If a model's outputs drift over time, you'll know what to look for and how to respond.
User testing before launch
For voice interfaces and dashboards, we conduct usability testing with real users in your organisation — not just internal QA — before final handover.
Clear scope agreements
Each engagement begins with a written scope document that defines deliverables, exclusions, timelines, and acceptance criteria. No ambiguity at project close.

For models that inform decisions about people, we assess outputs for demographic disparity and document findings — even when not contractually required.
Applied AI expertise in Hong Kong
Verdian operates at the intersection of machine learning engineering and operational consulting. Our work covers three specific domains: supply chain data analysis, conversational voice technology, and AI governance — each chosen because they represent areas where Hong Kong businesses frequently encounter both high potential and high uncertainty.
The local context matters to us. Hong Kong's position as a trading hub creates specific supply chain complexity — cross-border data, multi-currency flows, logistics partners spanning multiple regulatory environments. Our voice interface work addresses the city's linguistic character, where Cantonese, Mandarin, and English coexist across a single user base. Our compliance work reflects the PDPO framework and the increasingly relevant international regulations that Hong Kong-headquartered companies need to navigate.
We are not a large consultancy and do not attempt to compete on breadth. We focus on depth within a defined set of technical capabilities, and we are selective about the engagements we take on — preferring clients who value clarity and accountability over those seeking the broadest possible mandate.
